Treestand bandits strike again
I am sick of these so called fellow hunters that steal my sh*t. I just received permission to hunt 100 acres out of 1000 in southern Ont. We set up last week and today went to sit for the first time and it was gone. I've only been hunting for 4 years and this is the second time this has happened. I have a pretty good idea who it was too, and it was hard to fight the urge to mess with them, but then I would be one of em. If they had a problem with where I was located all they had to do was let me know and I would have been ok with moving. although I did have permission to be there. Im going to set up again, this time with a stealth cam pointing at it. If it goes missing again its war.

One suggestion might be and I have done this in the past and continue to do it is to make your ID invisible to the first glance (at little to no cost).Boo wrote:I had some tools etc stolen once and was told by the police that if I could not identify the items by a SIN or full name it would not be returned or confiscated.
PM me if your interested and I will fill any member in.....I dont really want the idea out in the open if you know what I mean~! Everytime these bandits get caught and face prosecution all we do is educate them for the next time~!

I had the same thing happen last spring turkey hunting I had made some natural ground blinds on a place that I had permission to hunt and the neighbor busted them up and took my seats.I aproached him and explained that I was in my right to have them on the edge of his bush and that I was not tresspassing long story short I now have his property to hunt also
The best things in life are not things!!
I engrave my stuff and I laminate my business card and hide it inside a tube of the stand so I can get to it with a long Auto glass hook tool

Got hit last week
Just recently bought my first bow from a forum member, a couple of months ago. Also bought a new stand to go along with it. Managed to get 2 hunts out of it before it was stolen a week ago. I hunt on 1000 acres of private property, and I am the only one with permission to be there. Apparently nothings safe these days. Now I am hunting off the ground, and haven't seen a deer since. Great way to put a damper on my first bow season! Maybe I'll invest in a climber next year.
Wouldn't be hunting...if you got them all the time!

i had 2 locked ladder stands stold last year during gun season. this year i sold my pistol and bought a brand new summit viper ss and it goes in and out of the woods with me every day i hunt. i don't leave it in woods locked or not. those are not hunters that steal others belonging they are criminals/theives!
