Giant Cat

Post by Sleeping Dog »

No deer this morning but I did see the biggest cat I've ever seen in my life. I had to do a double take because there have been isolated, confirmed sightings of eastern Cougar in Southwest Ontario over the past few years and from a distance this cat certainly had the right colouration and a tail that was nearly as long as the cat.

After taking a good look with the binoculars it was actually a huge domestic cat. I wish I'd had the camera out...dogs beware!

Feral cats often grow to be much larger than we'd expect a cat to be.

They're no good to anyone and are a nuisance animal in any ecosystem.

If you're way out in the middle of nowhere and are sure it's not someone's pet, you should kill it, if you can.

Many fish and game departments actively encourage sportsmen to do their part in eliminating feral cat populations.

i read a study about quail populations in N.C. many years ago and it listed the feral house cat as the #1 predator to quail in N.C.

I completely agree with the comments about feral cats. If I was in a more remote area it would have used up it's 9th life. It might have made a nice rug
