grizz tricks came in

Post by beretta96D »

I ordered some goodies from Lancaster Archery. I ordered a pack of 100gr 1 1/4" Grizz Tricks, some 50gr brass screw in weights and the long hex head tool to screw them into my inserts.

Since I was using a 145gr BH before, I wanted the same weight up front so after talking to Gold Tip I ordered the long tool, and the 50gr weights to make up the difference. I pulled the nocks last night, installed the weights and gorilla glued my nocks again.

I've got to tell you, those Grizz Tricks are serious looking, very sharp blades, wide and very strong. Even the chisel tip is sharp, I managed to cut my finger on it.

I'm going to shoot it on Friday and will post results. I'm anxious for next year already!

Went out today to see how the Grizz Tricks shoot. They shot perfect! They were two inches higher than my last heads, so I tweaked them down and all in the 3 inch black circles out to 50 yards.

The two small problems now is that they are extremely hard on the target. There is parts of my block at every 10 yard increment. I can live with that considering how they shoot, and the second little problem, is they do have a wizzz in flight. At 20 yards, can't tell, but the further out you go, you can pick it up no problem. Might be interesting with a skittish deer at 30 yards. Moose are so easy going it won't be an issue with them.

I didn't take any pics of the target since they were all past the fletching. My total arrow weight is 506grs and a 21% FOC.

Here's the finish product.
