O/T Tough man brought to his knees: UPDATE

Post by raydaughety »

After my dad died, my uncle kinda took me under his wing and has done a fine job of keeping me straight. Ya'll have heard me talk about Uncle Ellis a lot and know how much time that I spend with him and what he means to me. He's 74 and as far as his daughters know he's never shed a tear, has no idea what a headache feels like and has always been a quiet, reserved, Christian man. I saw a side of Uncle Ellis that I'd never seen today. A broken hearted, sobbing uncontrollable and broken man. His youngest daughter Alison is loosing her battle with cancer and it is taking it's toll on Uncle Ellis as he watches his baby girl suffer so badly. She is only 31 years old. I know that he's not a member but if you guys would be so kind as to say a prayer for my family and Alison, please do so.

UPDATE:

Allison lost her battle with cancer today. Uncle Ellis has never logged on to a computer in his life but was well aware that you all were praying for Allison and the rest of our family. Thank you all for your heartfelt prayers and kind words.

I'm praying that Allison will be able to be comfortable these last days. May your Uncle Ellis sense that he's not alone as he goes through this awful experience.

Cancer is becoming more and more a nightmare to me by the day. My wife just lost her grandmother who was like a mom last week to it. My best friend's dad is at md anderson right now under going test for bone marrow cancer. Not to mention I lost my grandfather and uncle to it 2 yrs. ago. My thoughts and prays go out to her and everyone surrounding her. :( I hate to hear that Ray!

Prayers are sent, And the wonderful thing is, prayers can be answered. I had my own battle with the big C 10 years ago, So I know theres always hope, even when mankinds prediction is slim. Tell her to hang in there, you give up mentally and you dont stand a chance pysically.

Ray,

I'll pray for your uncle Ellis and Alison.

And then I'll pray some more.
