Well this morning I decided to get my lazy but out of the bed and go hunting. At 5 am I started my walk out back. A couple hundred yards into the walk I noticed I had company, our cat had decided to come along. I took my foot and pushed it away several times along the walk but when I climbed into my tree he was below me meow meow. He was there at daylight and I dropped my accessories bag to scare him off at 6:30. 20 minutes later 2 does came thru but nothing following them. about 7:45 I walked the 500 yds back home to get my tobacco.
At 9:30 I sat down 125yds off my driveway because we had saw glimpses of a buck chasing does there the last few days. I stayed until noon but didn't even see a squirrel.
I was sitting here at my computer at 3:00 and decided to walk to a stand I hadn't sit in yet this year. Can't kill them from the couch right? This stand sits at the other end or the hollow I was sitting on earlier. At 4:00 I was settled in and grabbed my grunt. Moments later I hear a deer approaching fast. He was moving right to left looking for the source of the grunt. He was behind a row of cedars, I had him in the scope but he moving too fast for me to get a good look at but I saw the swollen neck and what I thought was an 8pt. He stopped in a small hole and I made a quick decision and squeezed the trigger. He made it all of 50 yds. The 8th point was not a legal point. I thanked God for the hunt and for letting me find the buck. Then I wished I had let him grow another year or two.
Jay please score him as a doe and yes it was taken with my ExcaliBoo Vortex.
Teammates I think that's all I can do to help us. 30+22+25= 77

Congratulations on a very successful hunt! Never had a cat follow me out before. The dogs start out with me about every morning, but, they know how far they are allowed and go back home.

Thanks Everyone
Sumner I was using a 100gr Slick Trick magnum I still need to go back and try to find that arrow.
I may have to go hunt somewhere else if I can find someone who wants the meat.
