Tyler Kills 8 Point
I just got a phone call from a very excited young man from North Carolina.
He put a nice basket rack 8 point on the ground with his 243.
Ray said he folded him up like a lawn chair.
They are on the way back to the Hotel so I will let them tell the story.
Congrats Ray and Tyler.
I'm gonna start callin that boy Tyler The Tarheel Terror.

Dad said that I could tell you what happened. After we got here and had a safety meeting they took us to a ground blind in a bean field. I saw the buck first but he stopped because he saw the ground blind and he didn't like it. He just stood there facing us but it was a shot that I didn't feel good about. A couple minutes later he ran back into the thick pines. After a few minutes dad grabbed a grunt call that Wabi made for him and blew it a couple of times. It wasn't long before he came back out but it took him a minute to turn broadside and when he did I nailed him. He's not a monster but he's plenty big enough for my first eight pointer. Good night we are tired and have to leave at 4 in the morning. He is 11 inches wide and was killed with a rifle.

If everything works out I may get a chance to hunt with Ray and Tyler next week
I am going to Fayetteville to see Kelly for Thanksgiving and will try to stop in and see Grizz and Ray and Tyler on my way back
Maybe Tyler can give me some pointers

Oh Tyler, don't you know that monsters come in all shapes and sizes!
Memorize those antlers. Know every inch of them. And if you do, you will have an instant measuring stick that will carry you forward to all your future hunts.
This buck is indeed your "monster" for now.
And he will be until you harvest your next buck.
And I have a feeling that one just might be a "monster" too.
