THINGS I LOVE

Post by Grizzly Adam »

I love:

The heft of my rifle in hand as I step out the door.

The crinch-crunch of soybean stubble under my feet.

The brisk breath of wind in my face.

The pitter-pat of raindrops falling on my blind.

The sight of deer's legs in the woods.

The rustle of autumn's last leaves falling through the brush.

The chip-cheeping of birds roosting for the night.

The patient excavations of a possum making it's living.

The crik-croaking of a Great Blue Heron taking flight.

The hoppy bounce of a squirrel.

The hink-honking of Tundra Swan flying overhead.

The silent black streak of a bear crossing the path.

The gentle curtain of darkness falling on the day.

The warm yellow glow of the lights of home.

The long walk across the fields.

The familiar creak of my back door.

The good smell of Great Northern beans and roasted pork.

Saying, "Honey, I'm home!"

I love these ... all God's good gifts to me this evening. :D

It is the simple things of the day that make you feel alive if we take the time to enjoy them!

The wonderful warmth of wood heat when I come back from hunting and I'm really cold. One could almost hug that wood stove!
Keep smiling!
