I've got a lot of guns, but there are really only two that have earned a nickname. The first is a Remington 870 wingmaster, 30" full choke. Dad bought it new in 1967 one afternoon after missing two jackrabbits in the morning's hunt with his old Steven's double barrel. He said that when his hound chased the "jack" past him, he swears the dog had a look of disbelief on his face, so he owed it to his dog to spend the $150 and buy a new gun. That gun, I always refer to it as "Dad's shotgun".
The other one is my Marlin .444P which I use as a "dogging rifle" as it is nice and short in the thick stuff. I refer to it as "o'l thumper" - It hurts on both ends.

When I was growing up on the ranch we had an old Winchester 22 that all the boys shared.

It was named "Mr. Stiffy."

Someday I will tell you all how it got its name.

I started naming some of my arrows. 2006 was the first year I did so.

"Old Age"

"Patience & Persistance"

Those two have completed their journey.

The other names will only be revealed once they have also completed their journey.

Speaking of which I have some naming to do!!
