Unbelievable buck story!

Post by mikdor »

My brother in-law shot an 8 pt.buck on dec.6th that makes an interesting
story.Nine days earlier he had shot at a big deer out of his blind and having changed from a pse compound and not altering his shooting hole, the bolt hit the bottom of the hole deflecting the bolt hitting the deer. Leaving a bit of a blood trail that decreasied the farther they followed it. As it was getting dark, they decided to look again in the morning. The next morning they found a bed that was frozen with a small amount of blood in the snow and a bed that they scared the deer out of that had no blood and the tracks indicated the deer wasn't hurt too bad. They had followed it for more than a kilometer in total, but no deer. Two days later another big deer shows up at 3:45 p.m., seen by my sister-in-law while we were hunting 50 kilometers away. Rick(brother-in-law) saw this guy one more time and this time (after modifying his shooting hole), made a perfect shot it went almost a hundred yds. and when he got to the animal it had 2 wounds a fresh one and the one from 9 days before that went over the spine. Isn't it amazing the deer came back after being hit like that.He was shooting carbon bolts broadheads that came with his new vortex and all the right stuff package, a very nice early Christmas present from a wife that must love him so much. :) Pics to follow ImageImage Having trouble putting the pics in - just the photobucket address with the pics comes up. Any suggestions.

I hit a buck high last year and had a similar blood trail. I was hoping to get another crack at him and find the scar. I call him "Two Timer" :D .

mikedor. Is that a Flordale Feed plastic bag in the corner of the 1st picture? The SHwendt's would be proud. Nice deer. Can't wait to get out during the last 2 weeks of Dec. Not finished working in Wiarton and plan on doing a bit of "playing" for a change. Hope to post my own pics soon.

Sometimes the deer are a lot tougher than we give them credit for.

Congrats on the buck. Was the first shot a pass through or is part of the arrow still inside it??
