Big Cat Kills Deer

Post by saxman »

I tried to check this out on snopes but couldn't find it
I got it in e mail

This is true. News of it flew thru here quickly because of all the farmers that work here that know each other.

This buck just couldn't figure out what to do and in his confusion got caught. The farm was running 4 combines just like that at the same time so it didn't know where to go. He had to be euthanized before removal. If you've ever seen what's going on right there in a "corn head" you'll understand how he got caught and how nasty that had to be!

Ouch!

It's not all that rare for deer to get caught up in combine heads around here, but it seldom happens to a big old buck like that.

I don't think it ever would have happened without the multiple combines in that field.

Poor fella. Wow.

That would have been a terrible way to be caught up ,the way that machine works .

There is a set of ( 2 ) gathering chains that run horizontally that has a metal finger of sorts that feeds the corn stalk back towards the combine . Just under the gathering chains there is a set of ( 2 ) pinch or snap rolls that grab the stalk and pull it down to a set of stripper plates that pop the cob off the stalk .
At an idle these machines it can rip a man's arm off with ease . There were a number of older farmers I know that lost an arm working around " acorn picker ".

That buck was probably trying to stay bedded till the combine passed by . Or he could have been crouched down trying to sneek down the row.

A lot of 'NON-Hunting' farmers in my area consider deer vermin along with mice, rats, rabbits, racoons, opossum, ect, ect. The only exception are the ones that have leased 'Hunting Rights' to Outfitters and Out of State hunters. Either way deer are just Dollar Sign(with thr $s either comming in or going out).
