Was out tonight and took this beauty 8 pointer dont mind the way the atler are sitting on the deer's head it is actaully pretty strange what took place. This buck was behind me for about 45 mins not wanting to come out of the brush. He finally did at last light, however he walked around me and tried to get downwind from me. He came out at about 45 yards and walked accross, i took him at 27 yards when he was directy across from the stand. He only went 70 yards. When we tracked this deer I found one of his antlers 5 feet from where he laid. I was shocked I knew he had both sets when i shot him the other feel off when i was trying to pull him up on to a trailer the good thing is a do have both. In the photo i am trying to hold the deer's head from falling over with my right knee and trying to position the antlers where i think they should be. I will post a pick later with his bald head showing.
Isnt it early for atler's to shed?

Strangely enough, I too have seen at least 3 one-antlered bucks in the past week! Who knows? That's early for here, too. Weird.
Congrats on the nice one.
It's the second time this week we read about early shedding in this region.

Maybe he was trying to convince you he was a doe and didn't pull it off soon enough?
