First deer
Took a friend out this morning .He has never seen a deer while hunting let alone shot at one .He was walked into the stand ,at around 7:00 he caught motion to his right at about ohhhh 10 yards . It was a doe (he only has a buck tag ) but low and behold along comes a suitor for her right behind her.Gets the bow down from the hook puts the 20 yard crosshair on him ,pulls the trigger NOTHING . He forgot to take the safety off ,so he regains his composure .Takes the safety off ,gives a small bleat and shoots. He watched it run away ,then he got the shivers supposedly he thought he was going to fall out of the tree .
When I came over to help track it there was no doubt this was fatal for the deer .
He made maybe 40-50 yards and expired .
Here is a couple of pictures of a very happy person right after we found it.Those smiles in the pictures are not fake at all
Thank goodness I took lots of pictures because when we went to start dragging one of the antlers came off.

Congrats to your buddy. He won't forget your guidance. Those sleds make dragging them out over the snow much easier doesn't it.

Congrats to your friend!!! Great photos too - he looks very happy.
Those sleds work well even if there's no snow. We've even used them in mud over rough-plowed corn fields and they've helped immensely. I've heard that some people carry the magic carpets rolled up in their packs for dragging out too.
