First ever cuddeback pics

Post by crazyfarmer »

I bought one of the new cuddeback capture's last month and placed her out Nov 27th in the woods just to see what was roaming near one my my stands. Well, i thought I new what bucks where there. I study my deer alot and had no clue these bucks were in the woods. Ones a shooter(tall 8). but more than likely he will make it for next season and really be something to look at. The 6 is a pretty decent buck. Nice mass... the freaky 8 with the broken G3 will definitly be something to look for next season also. Needless to say, im putting a few more of these cameras out now;) I dont plan on placing the flash models near my stands, but this camera definitly gave me a heads up on whats within 100 yards of my stands. I got a total of 82 pictures in 1 month. NOT ONE FALSE image. All where of deer, foxes, coons, and dogs. Well worth the 180bucks for this camera!!!

enjoy the pics... I have more detailed ones of doe and small bucks, but these were some of the bigger of the 82 pics LOL

As you can tell, this one was running by.. talk about fast tigger speed! This one will be one on my list next year if he grows more mass.

Next is the typical 6.. my guess is he will stay a 6pt, but he will definitly be a great 6 next year. Probably 20inches inside.

Now now.. This is a shooter on my farm. I havent seen him but he's bascially the twin to my bow buck from early this year. He's a 8, maybe 18inches wide, but tall 11inch G2's. I hope he makes it another week since next year he's gonna be a good one for sure!

freaky 8 decides to pose for a close up 10 days later on the same path

all of these pics are were taken on a funnel that enters a wheat field up a hill side. I think its a good spot for pics, but the deer stay in the bottoms well into dark before coming up this hill to the field. None of the pics of deer I got in this time frame were during daylight.. 82pics, all at night!

Thats the way it seems to go with these cams CF. I had mine out for scouting in August and September and never saw 2 of the Bucks I had on camera during season and I was seeing other Bucks I didnt have on Camera and I do alot ofscouting with the spotting scope also. I have a knob way up high on the farm I hunt and can see almost all of the 400 acres and I still different Bucks while Hunting.

A friend has the same results. They have a 400 acre Dairy and he got some 9000 pictures in August and September and what they killed in gun season was different then the pics he had on cam and he still doesnt know where the great eights went that he got on cam. He did get a great 8 himself that he did have on cam though. He blew it up to 8 x 10 and plans on hanging the picture beside his finished mount.

Very nice pictures. I got one for Christmas, hope it takes pictures like yours. You may want to build a steel cage to protect it from thiefs. See my post

I thought about that also, but if someone wants it bad enough they will get it.. The bear safes and all are fine, but someone can still break the lenses and etc up through the holes if they wanted to.

a lock only stops a honest thief LOL :D

but I was really impressed by this camera. I had 3 bad photos out of 84 which weren clear due to frost on the lense or foggy conditions.. I plan on buying a few of the IR model this spring

I like these pics CF.

Could you give me and foreman a model?

This model is the regular flash eh? or is it the IR? The reflection from the eyes makes me think its flash but I'm still learning these camera things!!

this is the flash model... the IR capture model seems to run about 20bucks more. The next one I get will be the IR line so I dont run the risk of spooking mature bucks. But one of them didnt seem bothered by the flash at all. He stuck around for quite a few shots and came back the 5 days later and posed again LOL

im just amazed that none of the pics were flash readings.. everyone had something in it :D Even squirrels and rabbits set it off, but tree's blowing in the wind didnt set anything off like some cameras
