Canadain Tire game cam sale.

Post by Pydpiper »

I just read it on another forum and had to check for myself. This weekend Canadain tire is selling 2 pack game camers for $100, $50 a camera is a good price.

you get what you pay for with those cameras also.. a few friends bought those for 100bucks and I think all they are doing is sitting in the trash right now.

I saw this add and I agree with CF.

Bargain hunters will flock for this, but you get what you pay for. I don't believe these will hold up in the -20 Celsius weather too long.

It's tough to toss up this kind of deal since if you lose them, you aren't out too much money.

It isn't a top of the line infrared solar camera, but for $50 it may be worth a try for those who want a camera and don't have the big money to spend on one, also at that cost it is a lot less to worry about once it is set up.
The temperature will have no bearing on the electronics, it is the choice of batteries that the weather can wreak havoc on.

I am going to get some for work, my last infrared camera was consumed by a raccoon, completely consumed.

I was going to snatch a pack up but I just checked Cabellas and read the reviews. Even the top of the line Wildviews have problems getting pics of deer (slow response), battery life is only a couple of days in the cold, and the cameras don't work at all in our November / December temps. The cameras on sale at CTC look like the originals (read bottom of the line). I think I'll pass on this bargain. Rangefinder is currently higher on my wishlist anyways...

I got the last one in Woodstock, but they did not know if they would be getting more or not.

I think they will be better than using film & I am not to concerned about picture quality, just want to see what is there.

I am going to play with them in my backyard first though as I have all kinds of tracks in the snow back there & they are not from any of our critters

I bought a couple the last time they were on sale, happy with mine so far. Brought them in before it got real cold so i can't comment on the battery life. They DO work ALOT better than both my Moultries though.

ct usually on has a few on sale just to get u in the store ....if they are cheap they could be real hard on batteries etc ....costing u and the enviroment more in the long run ....if your missing most pics due to slow trigger speed then it isn't worth it ...just my 2 cents

State on them that they are good to -12C, I have one and it is ok for an entry level camera. Yes much better than film. Slow shutter speed get half picture of animals as they walk by. I have 2 gig card in mine. Battery life seems good.

Just go to the canadian tire website,do a product search for game cameras, and there will be a link on the right side to check inventory at stores in your area.
I did this yesterday because I live about 40 minutes north of Edmonton.
The closest store , in St.Albert, was out but it showed that the Spruce Grove store as well as 3 others in Edmonton had stock. It will also give you the phone number to check so you don't get there and they are all sold. The Spruce Grove store had 2 sets left and the sporting goods guy put one aside for me.
I just want them for watching my house as I am going long haul trucking and would like to have some pics of anyone skulking around when I'm gone.
