My wife and I just closed on this house 2 days ago. With my upcoming retirement from the Navy, I planned on relocating closer to my hunting grounds so I started looking at houses last summer. I was searching the internet and found this house for a price that I thought was a mistake (2 acres of land, house built in 2006 and never occupied). I called the realtor to inquire about it and he said that was the correct price, but it was a "short sale". With nothing to lose I signed a contract and it was a long 5 months but we finally closed. This house is only 4.5 miles from the Army Base I do all my hunting at. The house belonged to a Real Estate agent who thought she was going to get rich during the housing boom, I bought the house for $166K less than the original selling price and $112K less than the recent appraisal. One bedroom is being dedicated to bunk beds for my hunting buddies.
I remember reading about that place. Something about a burial ground? Is it in a place called Amityville? Do you come home and find the fridge upside down, the table and chairs on the ceiling? Does your dog stare into space and growl?
Dedicating a room to your buddies is awesome.. Congrats on the new home.
