Very sorry to hear that Chris.
As stated, maybe it would be good to take his gun and go out in the woods
and be with him again. Good for the Soul.

Chris,

Sorry to hear this news. I know exactly what you are going through. I lost my grandfather last summer and it was not easy. He too was an avid outdoorsman and some of our best times together were in the woods, him the teacher and me the student. Every one of us passes on and the only condolance is that we have no regrets for the time that we did have with loved ones.

My deepest sympaties Chris. But now is not the time for a walk with a loaded weapon. When your head isnt fully in the game, accidents can happen. Allow yourself a cooling off time and then go for that walk.

Hi Chris : deepest sympathies, I do understand .. my gramps was the one to teach me all of that also... I invite him on my hunt when I go .. he and my son are with me in the quiet and cool mixed light of the forest or when the scents of the woodland is all I can know while I wait for sunrise in the dark, still end of night...
as long as you think of them and speak their name they are not completely gone; and you are never alone.
I like to think of it as they are off ahead on the trail somewhere .. making camp and waiting till I arrive to share the stories and smiles once more.. and they want me to know they are just fine and they want me to be fine too...
that helps me.. truly
