I tinkered around w/ a Chinese halo that had good reviews called NcStar. $49 off ebay.

It was certainly no Zeiss or Bushnell, but I could have lived w/ it. Mine had among 3 other choices, a circle and a small dot. W/ dot on at 20, bottom of circle was on at 30.

It had ball detent adj for w/e. and small set screws to lock the adj. They, as the reviews I read pointed out were worthless as they changed poi when tightened up.

It also wouldn't work w/ a quiver on Danny's mount, fwiw. Think it had a lifetime warranty but can't recall for sure.

I really dislike red dots for a number of reasons. These halo type sights have "0" parallax, btw.

I am trying out a bushnell red dot with four different dial in reticles... one is 65 min. circle with a dot in the middle, one is a crosshair that subtends about 8 inches; and there is a 2 minute dot and a ten minute dot..
I am thinking that it may fit my trajectory with the phoenix pretty well..
the circle and dot at 25 yards will be 16 inches top to bottom at 25 yards
( 8 inches from the top of the circle to the dot and dot to bottom of the circle ) when I sighted in at twenty the arrows hit 8 inches low at thirty.. I know it is more complicated than that but I will have to just check it out.. math confuses me..it is adjustable for brightness as well... I like it so far just playing with it... more tomorrow.

Non Mag Scope For Excal

Post by Earl D. Woodyard, Jr. »

I am one of of the Pennsylvania crossbow hunters that must change to a non mag. sight. This fight is not over yet. But to be on the safe side I have
opted to purchase a: Truglo, model# F01XR8350B4 Crossbow Trajectory-Compensating Dual Color Open Red Dot Sight. This sight has four (4) vertical Dots, 10yds. 20yds. 30yds. and 40Yds. I read the write up on the sight on the Crossbow review site.
It was given a positive review. These sights can be found for sale at Natchez Shooters Supplies $59.86 presently not in stock
and Ye Olde Archery shoppe About $70.00 to $73.00 not sure of exact
price, in stock. I should have mine this week. I am mounting it on an Exo
Mag. 200#. I shoot Goldtips , brass inserts, 5inch right helical feathers,
100 gr. point. average total bolt weight 400gr. fast flight string. I will give the sight a test run and post the findings. I presently have a 30mm three dot Truglo sight on a Parker Safari. It is ok but nothing beats a magnified scope when you have old retired eyes like me.
