This is turning out to be an informative thread!
I forgot the super-glue, but I'm going to add it to my kit. Thinking of buying some Butyl-cyanoacrylate (a form of super-glue for wound treatment). From what I can find out searching the net it is used in Canada and Europe for medical use, but still not approved in the USA. (I can buy it from a veterinary supply company, though)

As mentioned earlier, cotton balls slabbed in petrolium jelly makes for a great firestarter. I keep mine in a 35mm film canister.

Nope, it is free. He is my hunting partner and next door neighbor.

Still in the land of Ice and Snow, skiing is good, old muscles ache.

Be back in USA on Tuesday.

Only can grab Internet access if we go into town, a cafe there has wifi. So I grab a coffee and check my email. I read the forum but just skim it as I have little time.

Whenever the riffle season approaches, i am sure to update my first aid kit. I always carry mine on when we are dogging out farms or even just on my stand. not only is it good in case of a flesh wound / gun wound, it can also save your life in the bush like Survivorman says. :D .

I forgot to mention earlier that I keep my kit in a small camo pouch and leave it at the base of my tree stand in case I fall out I wont have to climb back up to get it.

Not a bad idea at all!!!!!!!!
I've heard many horror stories (including one from the landowner where I hunt) about making a faster than intended trip down from the stand. It would be wise to have the emergency kit right there waiting for you - just in case.
