My wife and I decided to check it out .... and wouldn't you know it , she talked me into buying two turkeys !
$36 CND was the winning bid and they ( a tom and a hen ) had a ride home in the back of my truck Friday night .. We put them in the pole barn for the night ( which really freaked out our three cats that rule the roost of the pole barn ! )
Saturday morning CH and his kids show up to help put together a turkey pen ... they check out the turkeys inside the barn ..

I had my cheap pocket camera along to take a few shots as we worked ont he pen ... 1st thing we had to do was pull all the wood from under the overhang of the pole barn ... CH's son Blaine lends a hand ...

It was a cold wind Saturday and when the kids ( Blaine 7 yrs old and Rylie 3 yrs old ) got cold , they hunkered in the back of their dads truck with Spike as company ...

Sako patrolled the yard as we worked and kept the cats busy !

With the wood moved out .... a couple of rolls of wire fence from the TSE , and the pen was shaping up ..

Sako and Spike check out the new birds ...

I put the finishing touches of misc. trim and a swing gate today ... and as the sun set the boss tom started gobblin his head off !
Man I never get tried of that sound !

By the end of the day today ... the turkeys had pretty well settled in and I could hear a wild tom answering from the bush at the back of my property ...

The cats return to their normal routine of laying around inside the barn , now that the turekys have been re-located outside ...

I spent the last few hours of the night doing some blacksmithing body work to my wifes car to make it driveable ( Yep , the insurance company did manage to weasle out of processing the claim ! )
A quick post and heading to bed for an early start dayshift tomorrow ... Never did get to paint up my new Vixen this weekend ... that will be my next project !
