Lots of birds out there this morning! None had my name on him though. Seen a coyote crossing a hill in the red sunrise that would have been worthy of R.J.'s camera..
There is always this afternoon, and tomorrow, and the next day...
Turkey season is here! :D

We put ten to bed Sunday night, so we are all set for the morning, right?
Well, we get to our spot this morning to find 6 or 7 hunters in the woods already. :x So we went north to the very next block! Lots of gobbling first thing, one lone hen comes on first light. Putters around and moves on followed by a coyote. 75 yards out from the south (the spot we had bedded the night before) comes two hens and a young double bearded tom. They cross the complete field and into the fence row to the next block. I tell my hunting partner to be patient our time will come. Well almost 3 hours from when they entered the field, up the fence row they come and into the decoys. Game over  . Both beards measure five inches each, does that count ten.

What calls did you use?

Ken.
Same here Ken, we used all three, the box, the slate and the mouth to get them in.

Seemed to work on the yote as well, until he winded us.
