No trurer statement was ever made!
Long story short it was a great morning.
Three deer in the first half hour that looked around had a bite to eat and left.
Called a hen out of the hardwoods and into the decoys on slate.
She was followed by a jake, I did not shoot as I am waiting for the two big fellas. They spend a half hour in the decoys and proceed into the meadow for some grub.
More deer now enter the meadow as well, 2 bucks followed and 3 more does. Now I am watching two turkeys and five deer. Time for some camera action I am thinking, but now it is time for a new camera because it will not work.
Meadow clears and at 9:30 yet another doe wonders in until the neighbors 4 wheeler rolls in. Oh well hunts over until fall I guess. Still a great morning and season none the less.
Just on more thing to add. This is the first season I have hunted out of a popup blind. I got one with the scent block built in. Well if what happened yesterday morning is any sign, then I am sold. The wind was directly in my back and right into all the deer's noses. Not even a look out of them at 50 yards.
Should be fun this fall, all these deer remind me of hunting in Michigan years ago and having a half dozen deer in your bait pile at a time.
