Dissatisfied for new original Excal cheek piece, help me!
Sorry,
I probably make some mistakes but in my opinion the new cheek piece do not works well: it do not close the stock of my Exomax 2008.
In my country www.arcosportspigarelli.com I pay it 43$ and it is a piece of plastic.
I will post you a pic of the problem if you can help me.

You have to remember that even if you bought your bow in 2008 it doesn't mean it was made that year. I'm sure there are bows hanging in stores that spent considerable time in a warehouse or store stock room before being sold.ch312 wrote:

spoke with billt about it, it is a 2008 based on camo pattern, it must have been a stock left over from the year before. the new stocks have a plastic sling stud the older ones have a metal stud. the ones with the metal stud no matter what year won't fit with out being adapted. i know for sure it is a 2008 because i waited for 5 weeks for my dealer to get it in, it was back ordered from excal. the 2007's had the green camo mine is red

Better hang on to it ... or paint it black and sell it to Bob!

Even at $24. it's a lot for a piece of plastic, IMO. BUT it does work, even on the '08 Vortex and on a green shade camo Phoenix (07?) both without drilled holes. The trick is to trim the vanes on the back of the piece so they match ups with a stock. Takes removing only about a 1/2" or so off the TOP of each vane. The rest of it will still bear against the stock. I used a rubber padded bar clamp to snap the piece into place, drilled an tapped it as per instructions. Have to admit, I put it on without trimming and it stuck out like a sore thumb. After trimming, all is well. Should warn you though the camo may be off a bit with older bows.[/quote]
