You think there is still hope for me R.J.?

Here is a pic of one on the edge of the yard last year. It is not unusual for us to find several every June around the house.

Great picture and a fantastic experience.

We've had 3 fawns born in our yard (most of which we do not mow for purposes of wildflife). The last one was about 10' from the house and that was last summer.

Also when I was farming we had to always be very careful when mowing hay lest you get one of these little ones. Used to get several pheasants then too. Well, I also got a few skunks, which was not a pleasant experience at all!
Keep smiling!

It really is not that bad, you just need the right equipment.

I mow with a "bat wing" mower, it is seventeen feet wide.

I just take a leisurely afternoon to complete the job.

Well, that and a cooler with a six pack of Shiners.

Wish I had that bat wing on my Summer job during my college days. A buddy of mine and myself took care of the local auto dealership owner's two homes. Each yard had about 4 acres. We cut and trimmed one and went to the other. 5 days a week, all Summer long. We had one riding mower, a push mower, a weed eater and all the water we could drink. Those were the good ole days.

That is way to cute to shoot.....right now. I had baby bunnies this year in the back yard almost found them with the mower too. Thanks for sharing the pic. Grass looks very healthy! My wife and I ride in a neighborhood just to see all the deer 40-50 almost every ride and thats just what you see from the road. We have seen a lot of babies standing under their moms in the last couple weeks. Need to travel with the camera more often to share some pics.
