The picture came from the 2008 new jersey fish & game digest . You know the smart people who set season dates and bag limits
This was a picture in a artical titled crossbows : coming to a treestand near you
makes me wonder if this is the first time this guy held one ouch .

Animal, i looked at that pic before quite a few times and never noticed that. it was a good article though.

It sure does. If it's the left thumb, the string impact takes the nail off; the fleshy underside of the right thumb protects the nail.
Seriously, I was too upset to care. Twice. That bow is long gone.

I still hit my buck in the intended spot. I was aiming almost straight down, +/- 10yards from the tree and had my thumb sticking up........Good thing for thick winter gloves
