Crossbows as you never seen before: new footage

Post by emmevi »

Good morning all

We added some more footage to slow motion archive:

I think the BooString with whiskers may be particularly interesting to Excalibur's fans.

Enjoy

Very cool

Would like to see this done with a string stopper on an Excalibur.

emmevi . . .very good comparison between the Boo string and the other string.

So much more vibration on the other string. I'm guessing the slow motion is the same speed for both shots. If so, then the Boo stops vibrating in half the time.

Can you tell us the string materials? Looked like the first shot was with dacron, correct? What about the Boo string?

Thanks,

Scott

The string on the Equinox video is the standard Excel String

the string in the Boo String video is
is 1/3 Vectran 2/3 Dyneema with Halo serving.

I feel that much influence on vibration reduction is due to the Cat Whiskers.

Next week I will try to film a direct comparison between the strings to get a better idea (with vs without, Boo vs standard )

What I really noticed was how much bouncing the scope does.(or appears to do)

These are also great videos to see the importance of using Loc-tite! All that vibration in the bows will surely loosen most any screw not sealed in. What I also thought was amazing on the Boo string video was how much the scope and scope mount flexed during the shot. Great videos!
