I left home without my SheWee thinking that since I was traveling with a Tim Horton's coffee addict we'd be making more than enough pit stops.
On the way home yesterday we hit stopped traffic north of Orillia and heard there was an accident so we hit the backroads to try to get around it.
No facilities on the winding backroads. If you know what the little Ontario sideroads are like up between hwy 11 and hwy 69 you know what I mean. Kept looking for a good place to duck into the woods but the road was winding up and down hills with no shoulders and no safe place to stop. Finally found a clearing on the rocky Canadian Shield. Relief was in sight!
I pulled off the road and ducked behind a small juniper to pee. Heard a buzzing sound, thought "Massassauga Rattler" for a brief moment, but then I looked down and saw my leg was crawling with angry wasps heading north. I'd peed on their nest! One hand pulling up my pants and the other trying to brush them off so that they wouldn't get stuck in my undies. It was bad. Got to the car but didn't want to get in and bring them all with me. Brushed off as many as I could and drove away. Had received a pile of painful bites but thankfully I'm not allergic.
Stopped a few km down the road (we were on still on the winding backroads) got out on the drivers side to moon my passenger to have her check to see if I had any wasp casualties stuck to my a$$. As I'm doing that (still on the driver's side of the car at the side of the road) a couple comes by in a convertible.

So the moral of the story is (say it with me now, girls!): Don't leave home without your SheWee!
