For field points, a feed bag filled with feed bags. As for broadheads I have no idea what the best would be, but I use a full size deer target.

For field points . . .bag full of old clothes.

Broadheads . . .deer, turkey, bears and pigs . . .the occasional squirrel.
I'd rather wear out than rust out.
Perception trumps intention.

Any farmer should be able to help you out with that. Especially a horse farm/riding stable. Or a feed supply store. Even a regular pet store might have some.

Walmart has bag targets foe $25, Been 2 years with my exocet and still good. For broadheads I like the crossbow king, about 55$ its only for broadheads.

Good luck, Stosh

I went into a feed store in Virginia thinking I could get an old sack(been no problem in the past). They told me the laws had changed to where they couldn't give me a used bag. However, they could sell me a new one. I forget the exact reason for the law . . .but, that's government. I never did verify that . . .you think they were jerking my chain to make $2?

For broadheads, I still like a sand bank to shoot into. Then you can cut out a silhouette of a deer or whatever. Hang the silhouette about 3' in front of the sand bank and shoot all you want. After shooting, tape the holes so you can always tell where you've hit.

As VixChix mentioned the feed store, I buy corn in a poly feed bag.I just save them and pack them full of material for targets. I can understand a store charging you for an empty bag, grocery stores now charge 5 cents for the plastic bags.
Just some rambling thoughts that may work -- as an alternative, would a paper dogfood bag work for a target bag? Paper bags for garbage and leaves are now available at hardware stores. Try an old pair of coveralls stuffed with material and shoot into the back of the body.
The above targets would only be suitable for field points.
I have not tried any of the alternatives that I have mentioned.

I just tried out a box filled with clothes and two pieces of foam I scavenged from shooter's garbage (with their permission) and the bolts did not pass through in fact over 8" stayed visible.

I am very happy with the results as funds are low for targets.
