trophy hunting
how many strictly trophy hunt. as for myself I always start out that way and the some stupid doe or yound buck stands broadside and my bow just goes off on its own. I've even used different bows and the same thing always happens. guess I just aint got no good will power
time in the woods is time well spent
Trophy hunting
ANY deer to me is a trophy; two years ago I finally killed a doe that I've been hunting for over 4 years; she was responsible on numerous occassions of letting every deer within a 2 mile radius know that I was in the woods; no matter how careful I was, no matter how much attention I paid to the wind or my scent, she would bust me every time; her luck finally ran out and I was able to slip a arrow through her and when I found her I was as proud as if I killed the biggest buck in the woods;
So no matter the size or gender, I hunt for one reason, the blessing of the meat for me and my family; my trophy room is my spam...

Hunt hard, respect what you hunt and waste no meat;

I start the season with high expectations, but usually take the first buck that comes along. This season has been the rare one so far, in that I did actually pass on a spike buck. Since we are allowed only 1 buck per year I didn't want to end the buck hunting this soon. Figured I could get a doe for meat, and I did get one a few days later, so now I can be selective for a few weeks.

I'd rather wear out than rust out.

Must have been fixed up before Grizz got home, otherwise, there would be a bite or two taken before anyone could grab the camera.Mike P wrote:Who is your taxidermist?Grizzly Adam wrote:I'm strictly a trophy hunter.

Doing OK. Hope to do an hour later today.sumner4991 wrote: How's your biking coming along Grizz?
I wasn't able to do the daily regimen while I was in Indiana, and I'm going to be away for eight days at an out-of-state speaking engagement starting tomorrow.
I can't wait to get home and settle down into the normal daily exercise routine!
Travel and staying away from home can really bust your norm, but I think during this week in the mountains I can get in some good walking every morning ... some along the Appalachian Trail.
