Well I caved and picked up one of those trail cameras and have been checking it everyday. Here is what I had waiting for me this evening. To me he looks pretty scarred up with some fresh wounds. Its hard to tell but looks like he has been shot at this season already judging by the wound on his back. I know it could be an antler but a two sided hole?

Nice animal. Difficult to diagnose the injury.
Maybe he will give you a better pic, hopefully in daylight.
Which model is your Bushnell cam?

Two antler tines dug in?
Also looks like fresh wounds by his eye and on his brisket.
I'd like to know if he was the winner or looser of the fight!
I'd also bet a broadhead would have split the skin between the holes as shallow as they are.

Looks to me like you have a lucky/scrapper on your hands. What a beauty buck. The wound above his shoulder looks like someone might have shot a foot too high on him. Hope you get him, he is in the area.

We seem to have a healthy cougar population down this way. If I lay out some unfiltered Marlboro menthols and a bottle of budget tequila, the memory card on my camera would be full by morning.

why is the buck crying during his picture? Did someone just break his heart on the corn pile?
