You know they say deer can't see colour but they certainly are noticing something. Is there a small flashing red light on your camera just prior to taking a pic?
Either that or there must be some inaudible(to us) noise prior to pics being taken. That deer was clearly focused on the camera, and seems to be trying to smell it in the second pic.
