i was kinda late (430pm) getting out so i decided to sit on the ground where 2 deer trails come to an atv trail. at around 530pm i caught movement and it was a doe about 60 yards away. 15 minutes later they likely winded me and came from almost behind me crossing about 30 yards away. i managed to get them to stop but it was too late and i could only see the back half of the last doe about 25 yards away. i could have caught the rear of her lungs but decided to pass to be safe.
this is 3 times that i have used the big can call with estrous buck bomb to call them in. thats every time ive used it....
better luck next time i guess
so close to letting an arrow fly...

I had a doe at 15 feet last night.
Unfortunately I was sitting on the ground & could not move, she came in on my blindside so was not prepared fully & had to bring the bow up about 6" to see through the scope but could not move with her looking at me she did not scent me but was doing the head bob etc. then turned around & slowly walked away back into the swamp to get behind me.
Had her in my scope at 15 yards but was shooting left handed (I shoot right handed) with a log coming down blocking her head but did not feel comfortable pulling the trigger & doing a bad shot so I let her walk.
About 15 minutes later (shooting light pretty well gone) I started slowly getting my gear together & a deer bounded through the middle of the swamp I guess she must have circled around & maybe got my scent or caught some movement but she did not snort etc.
Oh well maybe next time.
