For me it is a combination
If I am bowhunting, likely I am in big woods areas as that is what I have access to. I look 1st for sign, natural food stuffs etc...But I also often hang a 5 gal feeder that spreads corn. It will throw out 5 gal of corn over the course of 7 days.
During gun season I have access to a farm and hunt crop field edges.

Woods and pasture combined; here in Arkansas we are allowed to bait with corn; alot of hunters now plant food plots which helps deer in the winter time;
I mostly hunt big timber woods and I hunt 100% on the ground; 60% out of a blind, 40% "turkey" style;
