welllll

Post by BUS314 »

It's been about eight years, since I was able to get out after 'em because of physical ailments, high stress job, etc. But yesterday morning, I said the hell with all of it, I'm going out for at least a couple hrs. Took my Phoenix, & DB Blind down by the river, set up on an old fenceline in the dark, & low n behold, at 9:00 straight up, NICE 10 POINTER MEANDERED THROUGH, FOLLOWED 5 MINS LATER BY SEVEN DOES, FOLLOWED 10 MINS LATER BY A SMALL BASKET 6 POINTER----couldn't get a shot at any because of the brush. What feeling though after all this time!! Did a little trimming & readjusting & will be out there again about an hr from now to watch another sunburst in the woods. Point is, even if I don't get a shot------it's been well worth the pain n effort to get out there. luck to everyone.

When getting a shot becomes secondary to the experience of being out, you're ready to truly enjoy getting a shot!

Sounds like you're on your way!

We're glad for you! :D 8)

For me the fun is in the planning.
Trying to predict the deer's route and setting up to intercept them can be extremely frustrating at times, but also very rewarding when it does actually work.
Keep enjoying the hunt and the shot will finally present itself! :D

Your experience is in my books the true meaning and sensation of HUNTING. As a fellow forum member has stated " meat is a bonus"
Good Luck on future outings, and don't stop.

This little honey stepped into my newly opend lane & I just couldn't resist----quarters in the smoker, n straps n taters-mmm. Funny part is, after she fell in her tracks, I caught movement from where she came & the big boy from yesterday was standing there watching her----he meandered off to meet me next weekend----I hope, lol
