Excalibur Hard Case

Post by simplykaotic »

Hi, I'm new to these forums.

I did a search and could not find this answer, sorry if it's been brought up before.

Is Excalibur planning on offering a hard case for their crossbows?
I know it's said that you can just use a double gun case, but I don't feel this is a good enough solution for me. I would rather have my fully assembled crossbow (with scope) in a hard case.

Also, does anybody know of any brand crossbow case that could fit an Excalibur crossbow? I have a 2009 Vortex.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply.
I've test fitted my crossbow in that exact case the day I bought it.
Unfortunately, I'd have to chop off about 1 inch from each limb just to fit it in there, and that's not considering that I'd love a case flexible enough that if I wanted to remove the string for out of season storage, it would still fit.

My husband has a hard case for his TenPoint and I think it's a pain. Too heavy!! I have the Excalibur deluxe now and I love it. It holds all my extra stuff and protects my already tough crossbow. It is also easy to carry. I like Danny Millers price on those. :D

I have the deluxe case, I wish it had something like velcro straps sewn inside to hold the bow still when it's in there... but I do like the case

Do you have to remove the quiver from the bow to fit in the delux case?
I have a Phoenix.

Thanks.

I hear tell these folks make a Excal friendly case, picture I saw on another site looks great but they seemingly have no site.

I can't take credit for this idea.
I got it from Digger.
For those who are new Digger was a senior member of this forum with a whole lot of wisdom on crossbows ar anything else for that matter and was always willing to help.
He helped me many times.

That double case setup looks good. It's what Excalibur suggests.
I'm tempted but I hear mixed reviews.
Some people say that you would have to re-sight in your bow when putting it back together, but Excalibur says you do not. I tend to disagree with Excalibur on this one, but have not tried first hand, but usually, anything can affect it being sighted in properly or not.

I might give a call to that phone number and see what information I get from them. French is not a problem for me. If the information is decent, I'll translate and put it up in here for everyone.

Thanks for all the replies!

I have taken my bow apart many times and have never had to adjust the scope when I put it together again. Maybe it's just my awesome Ibex, eh? :D :D

this seems to be their site, not a web store, but at least I found some hard evidence they do make some cases, will contact them and see what they say.

Already got a reply from ROTOMOULAGE DL

Here's the original reply in french:
Si vous avez un téléscope normal pour arbalète, la réponse est oui. Par contre si vous avez un gros téléscope pour carabine le coffre ne fermera pas correctement. Ce coffre à été conçu spécialement pour les arbalètes excalibur, par contre il peux convenir pour les Eastman et Midleton. Vous pouvez vous le procurez chez Propac près de chez vous à 149.99$, si ce n'est pas le cas nous pouvons vous le faire envoyer directement après paiement soit par chèque ou mandat poste directement de la manufacture.
Quick translation is the following:
if you have a normal scope, yes it will fit, if you have a huge rifle scope, it won't close properly. This case was specifically designed for Excalibur crossbows, but could also fit, Eastman and Midleton. You can get them at "Propac" for 150$ CAD. They could also ship one directly if you send them by money order, or check.

I'm not familiar with Propac, waiting to get a reply from them about it.

My friend i can tell you this from experiance.
If you need to take your bow down for travel then it would be best to always check your zero when you reach your destination, that holds true for any weapon.
I can also so say I would side with excalibur on this one.
I would bet the bow would be right on the mark after reassembly,Mine was when I checked the zero in Michigan, thats where I was going when that picture was taken.
I shot a nice fat doe on that trip, hit right where I aimed.
But again I stress.
Check your zero :D

It will fit, if and ONLY IF, you're willing to cut a couple of holes on both sides of the case.

I know someone who's done that, but I personally wouldn't.
