This is my third deer for the year.....over 40 sits on the stand since my Oct 26th spike buck harvest. Lots of effort to harvest this one. This location has great potential but I have been unable to make a shot here until today. In mid November I had my first ever responce to rattling when a great buck came roaring in but a thick cedar prevented a shot. Many lessons learned this year!
A few pics for the forum:
The plastic sled works great in the bush until the old ATV takes over.
Good luck to all for the remainder of the season.
I eat venison 3 times a week and have not purchased any beef for the last 10 years.

Congratulations! Nice doe. You must be very happy.
I feel like I'm rich when I have my freezers full of venison. We go through 3 a year also and none of it is in prepared sausage, just roasts (that double as steak) and hamburger. If I ever get a 4th I will put some into sausage because I like that too.

Rangefinder mount is pretty good....slight wobble with the velcro as expected. I do not leave it on the bow all the time when hunting...only when I watch the edge of fields.
I have a basic bushnell scout(got it free with airmiles!) so I bought the mount. I find that the R.F. needs to extend about 1 inch over the scope for ease of use should a deer come in. Also ball caps will not work with this set up.

Way to go. I am hoping to see something this Saturday morning. If I can stay still in the frigid temps that is!!
A touch of frost has heightened your awareness and your heart steadily beats in anticipation. Your senses are suddenly alert to the movement on the forest floor and you realize that the moment of truth is at hand.
