more on B I G . A V A T A R S

Post by one shot scott »

Theres a lot of HUGE avatars floating around out there, making it hard for some to veiw the posts in the forum. In most cases the avatar takes up 3/4 of the screen. It would seem that the owners of these gargantuous avatars may be unaware that this indeed a problem, because I think it depends on what system your running on your computer if it shows up or not. I noticed a few, and I will list some of them.

Munch
Pink Panther
EZ Kill
John Wade
Mr big sticks
bass boater
Deep South Hunter
Curmudgen
Spaerorob
The Big Bee
Brapton Mike
K31 Scout

Theres more, These are just the ones i noticed. Not trying to pick on you guys, this is just easier than sending each of you a pm. :x

It really makes veiwing the forum a chore. I dont think blame can really be placed on those with the avatars, they likely have no idea. Im just trying to point it out to them. I dont know what the change over in the forum caused this, but wow, what a pita!!

And since we are talking about avatars jay, yours really should be bigger
One of the funnier ones ive seen used.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is how to downsize the avatar.

-Go to user control panel at the top right
-Click "profile" on left side
-click "edit avatar"
Here you can alter the size or delete it.

There are still a few out there.

Looks like the settings need to be changed even if you do not have a picture displayed.

Seems to me it should be easier for Excalibur to change the setting for the site instead of all of us having to change the personal setting. Sure, we can change our setting, but, every new member will either get lucky or have to go through the hassle.
I'd rather wear out than rust out.

I haven't noticed the large avatars, so I assume the combination of Firefox and the new system resizes them on my screen.
If mine is one of the offending avatars, somebody let me know and I'll change it.
