Un-freakin believeable ... Maximus nearly in my backyard !

Post by R.J. »

I had heard awhile back that there was some Excalibur clone's kicking around ... 1st it was " Middleton " ... then a Chinese clone " Maximus "

I live in the country and was driving down the main street of our town to the post office which is about 10 mins from my farm , when I see a sign for a new Gun / Archery store ... I stop in to check it out thinking " sweet , this could prove to be handy " !

Turns out he's a dealer for Parker and Maximus ...

I looked at the Maximus Models and asked the owner ... how can they get away with copying the Excalibur ? .... He says , " they sent one to China and said make us one like it , since there are no copyright laws on crossbows ? "

I said I wouldn't take that statement to the bank !

Unbelieveable ! .... they are pedeling these things , nearly in my back yard !

Sad, sad, sad....

Wonder how many years they'll be around before their warranty issues put them out of business???

The people that buy that product, are not in the same league as people who will be looking at Excalibur.

There are certain items (i.e. weapons) where "Made in China" just should not be part of the equation... Unfortunately, we have to weed through the junk to get to the goods.

I looked for the shop last time I passed through, couldn't find it. Now I have the address, I will go shake things up a litle.

It really stinks when someone copies something so close and passes it of as there own. Some say its an open market and they may be selling junk anyway. But it still takes sales away from the originator and their time and effort in making a quality product.

Hello all new guy to the excal club, my hunting partner and i just picked up 2 spanking new exocet 200's today at Triggers and Bows; I put a deluxe Munch mount on mine with a lumizone from my old PSE copperhead. We have them both dialed in for the last couple weeks of bow hunting season, i took a look at the middleton and the maximus and put them both back on the shelf! Excal all the way woohaa! the old PSE goes to my nephew next year on his 12 birthday. just need one of them fancy boo strings and I will be set for several years I would imagine.
