Re: wax on the serving

Post by blackjack »

g'day & welcome, l've only had real crossbows so to speak for 18 months now, barnett's before that & a horton legend 175 lb, l've been a rifle shooter for many years so l'm taking it all in myself. since joining this site l've learnt heeps about crossbows & my belief is no wax on your serving, why, well from what l have found when you run your fingers down the rail after a light waxing & a few shots its not smoothe there for it creates drag on your string, try it (less horse power) its a small factor but still something but when l use rail lube its really smooth no drag & l seem to be getting good string life in fact on my vortex l had about 100 shots last weekend after putting on rail lube so its well gone l put some bohning string wax very lightly on the serving after reading this mail l found my shots were close on a 1 1/2 to 2 inch drop at 20 yards why who knows, seems to me its from the drag of the wax on the rail maybe l'm doing something wrong but if l am & somebody no's a better way or a better wax please let me no. best regards frank (australia) by the way nice deer!!!
