i live in the city limit of mobile alabama.
can anyone advise me if it is unlawful to do crossbow target practice in my back yard.
I would be very intersted in any feedback as to the legalities of these activities... basically, would it be ok to practice shooting in the city?

There are also people who have been arrested and charged in some cities.
Assume it's illegal until you know for sure, and if it turns out it is legal, get something in writing so you can show people who don't know.
And if it is legal, make sure your range is 100% safe!

Most cities in the US have some sort of ordinance against discharging an air gun or even shooting a bow.Contact the local police dept. They can advise you on their local laws.

Don't have any idea about the laws where you are, but I did ask a local law enforcement officer here in Ohio.
He said there was nothing illegal about it - BUT...........
one stray arrow and you're opening yourself up to all kinds of civil liability!
