the great white turkey hunter(ALMOST)

Post by munch »

some days you have it and some days you don't.i was kid less today so called my sister to see if she wanted to try her luck.and she said yes. i helped her with her first bird last year and she has had no luck this year. we heard birds gobble on our way in and i dropped her of on one side of the field and headed to a stand on the other side.the turkeys where going crazy and sure enough a nice bird flys down and is wiuthin maybe 150 yards from each of us and i'm thinking this is great we are going to get a bird.then there is a shot but not by us another guy came in from the roadside and shot and missed the bird. he ran back my way but no way he was going to stop so we packed up and went to another spot.just when we are ready to leave along comes a jake right to us no skill no effort nothing just good old fashion B S boom all over for him and the sister is very happy #2 for her. the only thrill for me was going out in the swamp and skunk cabage to retrieve him and try not to get a wet foot. the thing did the funky chicken in the dirty old swamp and i can tell you he smelled as bad as bake bean night at the moose camp .her is a pic

Congrats!
When you get all those smelly feathers off it will look like something you'd want to eat.
