Foxy family(pic heavy)(more pics added)

Post by chris4570 »

I've been going back to where I saw the fox with the turkey head, this time armed with a still camera. Here's some of what I snapped. I could have stayed for hours but I ran out of memory on my card. Oh well I will try to get back and try to get some action shots.

Mom returns.

The family.

There was about a minute where mom was playing with the kits, man is she fast!!!! Unfortunately I was going back and forth from video to still(two different cameras) and trying to find pics I could delete from my memory card so I could continue to take more pics.
Image

Mom chilling before she goes off in search of some food.

A couple minutes later the successful hunter comes back with a chunky rodent the kits feast on.
Image

That's enough for now. It is times like this when taking photos that I wish for a better camera with better optics, higher definition images, and a bigger/empty memory card.

bugs wrote:Amazing pictures! It would have been so nice to sit their and watch. Times like that can make days of sitting and seeing nothing sooooo worthwhile!

So very true..unfortunately for me the penalty for staying and taking these pics was messy. Coming home to a bullmastiff with the runs, not so nice.

Their neighbour from across the road. If there are young ones they had better watch out!!!

I guess groundhogs can't read!! :D

Two of the kits follow mom across the road.

I think I solved most of the clarity issues. The original batch of pics were taken with an ISO setting of 800. The groundhog was at 200. I bottomed out for the next couple at 80.

Mom hiding from me as I move my blind(van) to get closer.

Mom enjoying the afternoon sun.

Last one from today. I am fortunate to have a very tolerant family to take pics of. Although they are not always available I will continue to visit them. And if I think the pics are worthy or if you want to see them I will post them.

Great pics!!!!!!!!
Thanks for sharing them with us.

As for the addiction ecoaster, I'm sure glad it's summer (fishin' & campin' season) and I don't have to worry about the newest, latest, bestest model of Excalibur yet.

And so far this year I've only bought 3 new fly rods, 2 new camping hammocks, 1 new backpack stove...............
