NY crossbow bills, we are in the dark here???

i just read an artical in ny outdoor news that crossbow bill(S06793A)has stalled. But bill A00924 is at this point in the process and apparently still has life and is coming up for some kinda vote tommorow???

i have no idea what these discriptions mean, (06/25/2010 reported referred to rules), what the heck does this mean???
should we get a group together and head up to Albany tomorrow to show support for this????????
i mean how the heck are we NY'ers supposed to support this when no one no where seems to know whats happening?

Where it stands I do not know. It is a LOT further along that any previous NY crossbow bill. I don't think they would put this much work in it to allow it to die.

I am not familiar with seasons in NY, but it appears to me that this bill allows the use of crossbows in certain firearm seasons, but not the archery season. It does not address the use of crossbows for the physically challenged, but allows them to us a Draw Loc on a "long" bow.

It sets a standard for the crosbows.

It also call for mandatory crossbow safety training.

I'm sure that crossbowers in NY did not get all that the wanted, but it is a step in the right direction....if it passes.

We are getting close. Bill A00924E passed the NY assembly yesterday. It was delivered to the Senate and has been referred to rules. This is a HUGE step.

What a great day for NY sportsmen! Got a call from assemblywoman Francine DelMontes office yesterday saying the senate was expected to pass their version of the legislation, but didn't know for sure until this morning. My Phoenix is going hunting. Hooray

my son who is out of the army now and living in AZ is thinking of moving his family to the binghamton NY area in a few years to be close to us in north east PA and her parent's in the south west part of NY area....he wants to archery hunt with my compound and it would be nice if we both can hunt each others state then, i'm hunting with a crossbow due to a disability, lets get moving NY on this...........bob
