Frayed string

Post by mjm »

I have an 09 Phoenix that is on it's 2nd string.I'm not certain of the string make but all of my equipment came from Danny Miller so,I believe it's a Excal Flemish. The 2nd string has very little shooting on it but,I've noticed that 2 or 3 strands of the string are broken about 5 " from the tip...must have caught on something sharp. My question is,is any string fraying acceptable? The serving and all else is in excellent shape.
Thanks

If they're broke all out of same bundle its time to purchase or make a new string. 1 or 2 strands if practicing is the limit fer safety

Agreed. Why chance it even tho it MAY not break. I don't stand for even one broken stand but then I make my own. Any excuse to make one is welcomed :D

Could be it got touched it with a broadhead while loading or unloading. More than one bow has been de-cocked that way.
Vortex, Phoenix, single-shot rifles and handguns.
Incurable tinkerer.
Why hunt? Simple, it's BASIC. Why breath?!
