Ah, the proverbial try-it-off-the-rail trick. BOTH of my thumb slaps were earned the same way. One when practicing from a stand rail, the other shooting shooting groups form my deck rail. In both cases I placed my hand alongside the bow's forearm to steady it. The hurt and embarrassment were minor compared to the nasty flinch it caused. Luck thing it wasn't with my Excals, as the bow now belongs to another

Vortex, Phoenix, single-shot rifles and handguns.

Re: QueenBee v. Pink Vixen
you might want to let that pressure off.
clean your thumbnail with rubbing alcohol and clean the smallest drill bit you've got with alcohol, or heat it with a propane torch to sterilize it.
Just spin the bit back and forth between your thumb and fingers, back and forth.
You don't need much pressure. just go untill you break through the nail. You'll probably get a squirt of blood. Slap some polysporin and a bandaid on it
