Is Putin Using an Excalibur?

Post by PA_DeerHunter »

This bow Mr. Putin is using on whales looks a lot like an Excalibur.

Looks like an Excalibur or a cheap Russian copy. The real question . . .is that a Boo string?

Given the rail length and stock model, I'm guessing a plain brown Phoenix! I guess my Vortex should be good for Blue Whales then?

Only if you just want to scratch their backs. :) Looks like he was just collecting skin samples . . .on a gray whale . . .

That's specially made for Putin, the manly man . . .he clinches the rope in his teeth and pushes down on the string to cock it.

Yup, that's a vixen alright!
The rope stirrup must be to cock it in the inflatable, I expect cocking with the aluminum job could damage the boat. We make a number of these bows every year for tagging or DNA testing marine mammals, They are provided with all parts coated to deal with the corrosion from the salt water but I can't say that we've sold any specifically to Russia. Kind of a neat story though, thanks for posting it!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm....................
That rope stirrup is interesting, didn't notice it at first.
Poke a rope up through the holes in the riser, a couple jamb knots, and an instant lightweight replacement.

Ah, Poot-Poot does have some taste. I can remember the name of the show but the same thing was happening, they were tagging whales and they were using an excal. They didnt have Poot-poot there tho

I see the Russians also use hunter's orange! Not sure how many other hunters are on the ocean to worry about it though. Probably used in the event of being stranded at sea. Easier to spot from the air! I guess whales aren't spooked by bright colors.
