Im finaly hunting,,

Post by strum »

Well this evening was the first time crossbow hunting..
hunted with my compound this morn ,,sighted in the exo..miday and made an evening in the treestand..
still havent seen the action i want but it will come ..i have learned to be patient..
first thing i didnt like was the quiver mount location,,
if i use a sling it diggs into my back ..is that why the grounder pounder was invented?
im hunting in the north georgia mountains and its a pretty steep walk to my stand ..and a fair trip so im always looking for comfort,,
everything else works fine for me ..i realy like the way we can decock our crossbows with the rope cocker..my buddy with the horton has to find somthing to shoot into while i just let mine down and get in the truck ..waiting on the other guylol
anyway i would like some info on the top mounted bracket and how to get one..

You better get in touch with the guy who makes them soon. I heard the groundpounder was discontinued recently (about 3 days ago) he still had a few left though.

If the groundpounder is sold out and he's no longer producing them, wyverncreations has a good topmount, too. www.wyverncreations.com

I like the simplicity and lines of the GP over the Munch. Other than that both do the same job.

Danny Miller ((740) 483-2312) also has a top mount bracket.
It mounts on the front sight dovetail and holds the arrows parallel to the limbs.
Listed at $10. on his current price list.

if you watch the video of Bill T hunting, they carry there bows on there side on their shoulder with the limbs infront of them. But yes, thats why I have top quivers on both my crossbows. Two makers of the top mounts on this sight. Munch makes a good top mount. If you get one of the two light versions you can ask for the alumium posts instead of the plastic ones. (or carbon fibre or whatever it is) I have a groundpounder and a Munch mount. Both do the very same job.

Strum, I have used the Groundpounder (2 as a matter of fact) and the Wyverns top mount. Both are great choices. I have an up hill climb going to my hunting area and have switched to a hip quiver mount. As much as I like the quiver on the bow, it is easier to manage the climb with the hip quiver.
