Tower stand question

Post by agingcrossbower »

Guys and gals would anyone out there have any idea who makes a good tower stand for gun season. My brother came up with the idea to perch himself in one and I was hoping that someone here had tried them out. Thanks Aging :)

My family got together (three cousins) and built a stand for me that has been very productive. It is a 4'X8' box with a rubber roof, sliding windows, rear door, carpet and a great set of steps that are real close together. The stand is held up by (4) 16ft 4x4 posts that are bolted to the floor band. It took them 4 hours to built it and I had almost $200 in materials tied up in it. I bought 2 office chairs and set them in it. It's real comfy  I can send you some pics to your email addy if you'd like.

I don't know which stands you have access to, but we have several API and Big Game tower stands that are 16 feet tall. The only problem we have is that the seats can get a little creaky, so be sure to use some dry lube on the bases.

Also, I take black pipe insulation and run around the rail and zip tie them on. I then use zip ties to put a cheap burlap camo material around the edges making a blind.

These things are not lightweight. In fact, you'll probably want to put them in one spot and leave them unless you have access to an ATV and trailer. But on the other hand, it's no problem sitting in one all day long!
Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison; And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die. Gen 27:3-4

We added the ladder and the windows at a later date but you get the idea.

Great looking stand Ray.
Looks nice 'n cozy and not a bad price either.

I love it because I can drive within 30 yards of it and it's comfortable enough to sit all day. It's really comfortable with Tyler, Brianna and myself in it. I'd like to have 1 more that size or a REAL comfortable ladder stand. Does anyone know of a decent ladderstand, a two man would be best for Tyler and I.
God Bless !!!!!!!!!
