Opening Morning Illinois

Up at 3:45 AM, put coffee pot on, turned on computer, checked temp, wind direction, barometer, solunar table. Got a cup of coffee, or 3. Jumped in shower with scent free shampoo and soap to wash of perfumed soap sheet smell. in my stand by 6:00AM. Hunted 10:00AM. No deer sighted in the 4 hours. About 10:05 while getting my gear together I looked up and here came 2 mature doe. They came within 30 yards of stand in an area I hadn't cut a shooting lane. I could have taken a shot but rather than chanch a wounded deer instead of a dead deer, I passed. I am going back out at 3:30PM and there will be a shooting lane before I climb the ladder. The only thing between me and the deer was 27 yards of air and 3 yards of weeds. I had a good view of top 4" of back and head where I am going to cut the lane. I could see the entire deer when they first came into view but no shot. Too many limbs.
