what do you guy's think of these huge cutting diameter type mechanicals at 2 3/4 inch or the 150 grain tom o hawk @ 3.5 inchs. could the big cutting diameter hinder penetration? does anyone use them?

no, the breast is where the meat is and you don't wanna put an arrow there of course. i'm talking aiming where you normally would on a turk, vitals and maybe cutting the spine for a quick kill.

anyone else out there us a big mechanical?

I have used those broadheads for numerous years now and can safely say they anchor birds.. with their heavy weights and large cutting diameter they make for the perfect turkey broadhead. the large diameter helps in slowing down penetration and helps keep the arrow in the bird. the weight on the other hand help crush bone and also cause a lot of shock and trauma to the bird. even with this size of turkey head I still recommend using Zwickey Scorpio stoppers behind your broadheads. you want that arrow to stay in the bird for as long as possible.
