Handmade Knife Sheath
Last year, with the input gathered from a thread on "Knives" I purchased a Forschner Fibrox knife (thanks Griz), what a wonderful knife!! I like it so much I want to carry it, but it didn't come with a sheath, so I made one.
I have never worked with leather in my life. (with the exception of making new holes in my belt with a steak knife) I went to a local leather shop and asked some questions, did some reading and picked up a few tools and some leather. After much more reading and careful planning this is what I came up with!
There are some things I'll try differently next time, cutting, finishing etc. But overall I am very pleased with it and the only waste was my first attempt at the lash and snap. The first one I mis-measured and it wound up a bit short, I may be able to use it for a different sheath later.

Thanks everyone, I had a blast making it. I'm going to try and learn a bit more about the craft, it might be something to do over the winter besides tie flies!

The sheath looks great! And all you do over the winter is tie flies? The winter time trout bite is great if you can stand the cold Ya never can have too many flies though
Why ride when you can walk!
